UMBRELLA

As I take only a glance,
I am in a lovely trance,
What she does, I can’t explain?
She’s everywhere, like pouring rain.
She lets me under her umbrella,
And says I am a handsome fella,
But she blushes, being so polite,
Reaching out, we hold hands tight.
In the streets we start to walk,
Her mouth opens as she starts to talk,
Getting wet, I step into a huge puddle,
She gets closer, as we begin to cuddle.
The umbrella flies out of my hand,
She laughs, running to drier land,
Seeking shelter, underneath a roof,
Giving her my jacket which is waterproof.
Her eyeshadow is dripping in her eyes,
I’m in such a wonderful place, I realize,
That now is the moment, where we lock,
Kissing in the rain, right on the sidewalk.
I may have lost the umbrella that night,
But I know what I did was always right,
Is to hold her and make sure she knew,
That we will be together and always true.
The rain stops and we walk in the street,
Heading back to our car, my heart beats,
It was a wonderful night, so complete,
Driving, as Denise sits in the passenger seat.
On the side of the road, was the parasol,
She said stop and turn back, doing a carousel,
Saying, no need for that that I’m your umbrella,
Protecting you, being your good-looking fella.
