THREE TIMES
© RYAN GUILEY
Driving past my old street,
Listening to our song on repeat,
As I turn on the wiper blades,
The rain pours as thunder invades.
The defrost blows out of the air vents,
The town house is a time of precedence,
I flashed my headlights three times fast,
Meaning I love you, which always will last.
Rolling through the stop sign,
The lightening knocks out the power lines,
Completely pitch black as I turn around and about,
Going to the spot where you asked me out.
Dreaming and knowing you were the one,
Meanwhile, my heart just weighs a tonne,
Missing you and have no idea where you are at,
I get out. Getting all wet, while I just sat.
On the park bench looking at the swings,
19 years ago, I gave you a diamond ring,
Recalling the days, I cleaned your jeep tires,
While you read the newspaper ad flyers.
The pain just lingers inside my heart,
Getting back into my car as it won’t start,
I open the hood and check the connection,
Flashing the headlights, three times in your direction.
The car cranks the engine over by roaring,
So, I start dancing alone while it’s pouring
Knowing that your energy gave me a boost,
Our love will never die but will always be introduce.
